Christmas Card Photos

We had the a wonderful time photographing this beautiful family in Duke Gardens for their family Christmas card photos. The kids had so much spunk and spirit we were laughing and smiling the entire time! 

 Their mom chose great outfits for this Christmas card photo session. It's always important to carefully consider what you plan to wear for photographs. I recommend to my clients to avoid patterns on their clothes as well as avoiding clothes with bright colors...neons just never turn out right! 

 Duke Gardens has got to be my favorite spot for photographing portraits- the light and the setting are just beautiful there year round!

Family Portraits in Duke Gardens

Here's a look at a family portrait session we photographed in Duke Gardens. 

Duke Gardens in Durham is one of my favorite locations for photo shoots because it's gorgeous year round and offers a variety of  natural photography backdrops. 

I also wanted to make sure to sneak in some couples photos of just mom and dad.

I'm a big fan of coordinating outfits for family photos. What to wear in family photos can be a challenging question for many of my clients. For any portrait session, whether it's senior portraits or family portraits, I recommend clients avoid bright colors and patterns. 

Don't their all white outfits really pop against the green background? Such a classic look for family portraits! 

I'm always up for creative family photography ideas, and this family jumping pose made for such a fun photo. Just look at their faces, they had a blast with these jumping photos!

My favorite maternity photos are always the maternity belly photos, and for this one we wanted the whole family in the picture! 

Caitlin's Senior Portraits

Come take a look at Caitlin's senior portraits taken at Meredith College in Raleigh...

Caitlin wanted to include a few photos of her with her Nikon camera. That's one of my favorite things about photographing senior portraits- getting to capture the interests, passions, and hobbies of seniors in their portraits! 

And of course, we wanted to make sure to photograph her onyx ring. The onyx ring is very special to Meredith College students- it's a right of passage at this all women's college. And Caitlin sure earned her onyx! 

We wanted a few photographs in front of Jones Chapel, a very special place for Meredith College students. Meredith College's campus is simply ideal for taking photos- it's just such a charming campus!
